Betting Tips for Tennis

Betting in Tennis provides sports bettors with an opportunity to earn a lot of money throughout the year. Assuming, of course, that you know how to bet on sports. Another way to earn money from Tennis is to learn how to be a Bookie Agent and run your own sportsbook. So for those who want to learn how to bet on tennis, here are a few tips to follow:

1.     Learn the sport. Learn how the scores are earned, how many matches, sets and games are needed to win. Learn the different venues you can play tennis on. Why? Because some tennis players perform exceedingly well in a certain place or court type than another. This is because in tennis, you have different textures they play in – clay, grass, hard court, and carpet. And these things matter if you are looking at the winnability of your player. You will need this since running your book will be easier, if you also study up on how does a pay per head work.

2.     Study your players. Tennis gives you a unique opportunity to earn and bet more wagering options. Mainly, this is because the tournaments are divided into singles – men and women, and doubles. Each player you study will have styles that will give them advantages in certain venues, or over certain players. Use this as a guide to know who to bet for when you see a lineup for the matches.

3.     Learn the bet types in Tennis. These are the wagering options you can choose from across all tournaments, such as the US Open, the Australian Open, and more. Here are your wagering options:

a.     Outright Bets. It’s pretty much picking who you think will win the whole tournament.

b.     Match Betting. This is betting on a by-match basis – you pick who you think will win in that particular match.

c.     Handicap Betting. Betting on handicap in Tennis is the same as spread betting. You bet on if you think your player can win with the handicap advantage set over his/her opponent. So, if the game handicap is -8, then your player has to lose by that much. If your player wins the match, you still lose your bet since you were betting on the handicap, not a match bet.

d.     Over-Under Bets. Over-Under bets in tennis is bet on the number of games or sets that will be played, where you bet on if you think it will be over or under the number set by the bookie.

e.     In-Play Bets. In play betting is one of the most exciting bets in tennis because the wagering options will come and go as quickly as the game does.
